Tenorio National Park (Rio Celeste Water Fall)

The Río Celeste hike takes place inside Tenorio Volcano National Park, home to one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Costa Rica: the stunning Río Celeste Waterfall.

We will pick you up at your hotel with private transportation, and throughout the entire experience you will be guided by a professional bilingual naturalist guide.

Once inside the National Park, we begin our hike through secondary forest—a great place to observe insects, birds, and occasionally snakes.
The tour includes a bilingual guide equipped with binoculars and a telescope, entrance tickets, fruits, and snacks.

During the second half of the hike, we enter primary rainforest, where it is possible to find tapir footprints and other wildlife tracks.
The iconic Río Celeste Waterfall is the first major stop. This breathtaking viewpoint allows you to witness one of the most magical destinations in Costa Rica.

Later, the trail leads us to volcanic craters, ancient trees, and unique geology of the Tenorio Volcano.
Next, we reach the Blue Lagoon, an ideal spot for stunning photographs.
Just a few minutes ahead we find the bubbling area, where volcanic sulfur gases rise naturally from the ground.

Finally, before returning, we visit Teñideros—the exact point where two clear rivers meet and create the magical chemical reaction that instantly turns the water into its famous bright blue color. This rare natural phenomenon is truly unforgettable and a must-see in Costa Rica.
